Unique Methods, Proven Results
I know what works and what doesn't work. Depending on your own unique
learning style, your level of experience and your own goals, I will tailor
each and every drum lesson to ensure you make measurable progress, week by
week, lesson by lesson.
Many of the teaching methods I employ can't be bought in a book (just
yet!) However, I am working on this.
I have personally developed and tested many of the drum methods and
techniques I use. These techniques include those relating to relaxation,
performance anxiety, focus and preparation, co-ordination, ergonomics, rhythmic
vocabulary, pattern development and recognition, independence, interdependence,
developing muscle memory, solo techniques, improvisational techniques, musicality
and many other areas.
Unlike many local "teachers", I do not teach from a text book, which
you are forced to buy and then pay a "teacher" to read to you each
week.
Instead, I teach from many years of experience, sometimes employing
exercises from drum books, but often simply fine tuning your drumming, or
your attitudes towards your drumming. As a qualified and experienced trainer,
I am also able to tailor your learning experience to suit your particular
learning style.
I have many former students who are playing professionally or
semi-professionally. A few are also teaching. One is playing on film scores
in LA. Another, (now 13 years old) achieved his Grade 3 Rockschool in just
6 months (from total beginner) and currently plays at Grade 6 standard.
Definitely one to watch in future years!
Remember, you learn a lot more from drumming than just
drumming!
